Mug of Warm Water

I woke up terrible today, feeling I could get more sleep. But, I just couldn't get back to Dreamland. Had to drag myself grudgingly out of bed, feeling half asleep. Though I can't pinpoint the exact reasons for the drowsiness. Don't worry, it's not a hangover, I don't drink.

I stared at the computer screen, and it seemed like ages before the Internet connection came on. I kept taking in mouthfuls of warm water, for that throat that must have sung itself dry after yesterday's singing session.

It was dreadful when I saw too many emails in the inbox (like 36) but I heaved a sigh of relief when they're all facebook spams. There is work to do, like doing up our Fright Night proposal, and planning my Taiwan trip itinerary. Now, i stare in disgust at that grey bar which refuses to turn red on the Internet page that says "Gossip Girl". The connection at home is really slow. I contemplated whether it would be better if I was back in hall. But, then, I thought 'no'. This groggy me would feel totally worse off back in the hall room.

Though the pipagao at home tastes bad.

Luckily it's reunification tonight with dear roomie and neighbours. Like finally man.

I wished my dark eye rings would go away,
Moon

My Birthday Gift with Additional Wafu Sauce

Me and Ms Lai have been great friends for "use all the fingers also cannot count" years and we kinda got bored of getting gifts for each other. Our Orchard venture ended up with her treating me to Jap food and me getting two tank tops for her. We both agreed that mutual gift exchanges help save money, give us the illusion of not having to pay any money and that we both like the idea, hence we're going to stick to this every year. :)

But, she got disgusted with me and my sesame ice cream. Well, you see, long long time ago, we made a bet. She betted with one sesame ice cream that my "hair-growing" attempt won't endure and I swore she said she was going to eat one with me if my hair got long. Now it's long, and she's not honouring her word!!!Because she thinks the colour of sesame is like tar. And i say sesame is my favourite flavour for an ice-cream.

She had Mango with sorbet and I had sesame with red bean. Hence, she concluded that my choice was very "ah pek" and her choice was "modern". Gosh, and I'd say "ah pek" is the new word for "indie" and "unique", yeah?

Anyway, the highlights of the day had to do with boys. She was goggling this cute guy that I didn't see at Depression@Far East, and she kept gushing that that guy was "her type" "her type" lol. Then, we ventured to Heeren and saw another cute NewUrbanMale. Ah, this one was cute, also "her type" "her type".

Oops, i'm sorry, those weren't the highlights. The highlight was that she embarassed herself by getting on the wrong escalator because she got too busy looking at the NewUrbanMale, and he must have noticed. Damn LOL.

By the way, Ms Lai said this over dinner "黄伟曼,你越来越mean了!" and it was all because of all the balding heads in the world. 我会mean meh?

A Suitcase Story

See, it's a suitcase story. But, believe it or not, it wasn't done on purpose to match the theme of The Great Escape. It's just pure coincidence. Guess what, I finally caught The Darjeeling Limited on DVD.

It's hard to pay attention to the story's plot when these suitcases lying around really captivates. They're of all shapes and sizes, and shit man, they're all limited design pieces from Louis Vuitton. I read this somewhere in Time some time ago. The interior looks really intricate too, it's as if they paid attention to every single detail. I'm thoroughly impressed.

It's a quirky and eccentric story and I liked Adrien Brody's character best. But, I don't know why. Anyway, they are really weird brothers who get up to really weird stuff. But then, everybody's weird, aren't we?

I'd remember the line: "We have not located us yet."

But, it's still kinda dry lah. Though i'd always choose a quirky film over any other blockbuster.

By the way, I got tired of the rest of the series, so I started on a new one. Not entirely new, but Gossip Girl looks hot and would suffice for the moment. The guy Dan Humphrey in the show is hot stuff.

Til' then, you know you love me.

XOXO

When is The Great Escape?

It was during the examinations period when I had the sudden urge to grab the suitcase and make an escape to...well...ANYWHERE? And you'd ask escape? Escape from?

And I'll answer: NOTHING, NOWHERE in particular.

A plan for a great escape is just too tempting. I give in really easily to temptations. Thus, this is the pilot plan for my great escape...or my great escapes, to be more exact.

My first escape is scheduled on May 17-18 when I'll retreat to some kelong Jiamin hunted down for two stree-free days. Meanwhile, I've been actively seeking company and activities to fill up the days, lest it gets too boring.

It's a new phase. I do hope I enjoy it, and I hope you do too.

Reading and Writing,
The girl without a suitcase

P.S: The new Peranakan museum sure is worth a visit!
