Life?

This has been a weird week. For the first time, I truly realised how hard it was to lead life without talking to my mum. We were trying hard to spite each other and the feeling was unbearable. It came to the stage when I wasn't even angry at her anymore, and I knew neither was she, but nobody wanted to take the first step in mending the faultline. But, I'm glad it's over and we're better than before after a good talk. Ha. Since in the first place, it was a really small problem.

I went out alone on Tuesday, for a perfect day out and was disappointed when it started raining on the train ride. Twas hoping for the rain to stop and it did! Voila. The movie, Black Book, showing at the Picturehouse was superb. The plot is really good and I was totally absorbed in the show. And for 6 bucks only. Reminded me of Lust, Caution, it was as audacious as Lust, Caution and I even thought it was better than the Chinese version coz it went all out. I'd said catch it, before it's gone from the big screen. There's another new one coming on in June starring Rupert Grint and I might be watching that too since the tix is so cheap.

Bought two vintage tops from a shop in The Cathay and they were goddamn cheap. One was 20 bucks only. Gosh. They look oh-so-suitable to wear on my next big great escape, TAIWAN! (Can't believe so soon!) Then, I walked to Bugis, hoping to exhaust my Oktomat's film on the way, though I failed. Wasn't much to take. Walked around Bugis Junction. Shopping was ok, but food was good! A lot of new food outlets and the food junction has so much variety. Love there just for the food! Wootx.

Anyway, these few days, have been making some last minute planning for Taiwan, doing some currency exchange and collecting my tickets. :) Have been paying attention the Chees vs Lees case too, and me and Yi Ling had a fervent discussion about the saga at our lunch yesterday too. Well, if I have to take sides, I'd stand by the Lees, cause they appear too intelligent to fault them for anything, if I look at it objectively as a court case, and not from a political standpoint. But, well, I derived my stand from a narrow perspective derived from the Strait's Times daily reporting. Well, oh, well.

Dreams and Reality

I dreamt of the old you,
and it reminded me
of how long it has been since
since I don't know when

Then I realised,
I do not know how to remember you
do not know how to remember the you you are now

Maybe vaguely,
vaguely.

I went to the gym without Ms Lai today, since she is overseas. It was quite mundane, and I especially hated the rowing machine, because it made the 10 minutes seem like forever. I tried singing as I worked out, and it actually helps pass time, though it's not easy. And i went easy on myself, since I've not fully recovered.

So excited, it's Seow's birthday tomorrow. Don't forget your red rose! :)

Anyway, above is a sketch I drew using my sister's pen. It's surprisingly good for sketching. A bit inspired by Sex and the City, which I'm totally looking forward to.

Meanwhile, nobody wants me for I.J. I shall watch it myself then. BOO.

The First Escape

Last weekend, I went for my first ESCAPE with the bunch of crazy fellas. I don't reckon that you could say it was a great escape destination, and the people there felt so Singaporish, it's hard to reconcile with the fact that I was away from sunny island. But, the company, was of course, great great great.

Firstly, I absolutely adore long bus rides, because buses are really nice to sleep in. I slept on and off, and halfway, we stopped at a food centre pitstop for a quickie. The neighbours "betrayed" the bunch for a supposedly nicer breakfast, in the form of prata love. Aiyah, but it wasn't that good either. I grabbed a dose of news for a quick read on the bus, but most of the time, I didn't understand the Malaysia local news, so it became quite boring. Though I do regret not bringing the piece of New Straits Times home for keepsake.

My shopaholic side acted up when we were at the jetty. This sunhat caught my eye and dear SSM decided to pay for it! Free shopping. I love. Then we went on a rollercoaster ferry ride, which everyone felt was horrid. Ah long and Dajie took the brunt of the hard ride, but I was lucky to escape the consequences because of a hardy stomach and a motion sickness pill.

Actually, when I reached the kelong, I felt that we seemed to be at a loss, not knowing what activity we should start off with first. The hardcore Mahjong people like JIAMIN indulged in their favourite pastime. I slacked around, took photos, caught a fish, went for island-hopping, and played lame games. The highlight of the day was the karaoke, I felt. We are naturally buay pai seh, because we sing loud loud for the whole kelong to listen. Damn shiok!

KKJ jokes and hotboy jokes kept us laughing throughout the trip. Really got no hot boys man (The Jonathan really no count)!

Anyway, I could still get 987fm on my radio. So, on the way home, I plugged in all the way and managed to catch the Travis rendition of "Oops I did it again". Magnificient! :)

Well, well, these few days at home weren't great, since Im down with flu and cough. Had to miss shopping on the first day of GSS and the JCRC meeting. With my siblings, I keep talking bad about my friends. Im a meanie, you see. But they reciprocate with their own stories, which keeps things fun. LOL. Huang Wei Ting is away in M'sia now, and we kinda miss her, bleah.

I had a teeny quarrel with my mum this afternoon, and now, I've decided I'm going for alone shopping and movie on Tue. For some therapy. Ha.
,
And who wanna catch Indiana Jones?

P.S: Im contemplating a new Laogong.

Doesn't this reminds you of Ironman? LOL.

Life is beautiful

There seems to be many hints here and there urging me to do something more meaningful. And it dwelled upon me that I am not satisfied with how I am feeling and what I am encountering at this particular stage of my life. Though I have not come up with anything concrete or specific, I am determined to do something about it.

Another revelation: I seem to be learning less, too little, during the holidays and I hate it when the day is deemed redundant when it reaches its end.

Damnit.

Something I heard in Accuracy of Death yesterday, that life is something very normal, nothing special, but it is important. I like how they say it.

And life is beautiful, isn't it?

P.S: The photo above, do you know where it is? No prizes though.

So what happens tomorrow?

The Iron Man was ass-kicking good, and the boy toys were delicious. You see, the other day, Rushan, Zhi Hui and me were talking about the leading man Robert Downey Jr and I remembered someone comparing him to George Clooney, always the sexiest man alive. Now, I would totally hesitate to make that comparison, though my sis was constantly swooning that his eyes are charming. Yet, I would have to admit that Downey Jr. still can work his charms, and coupled with all that big machines and cute robots, I declare Iron Man the best hero flick since I don't know when.

It sure makes up for the lack of good movies this month, except The Accuracy of Death which I would be catching pretty soon. With pretty boy Takeshi Kaneshiro, the ratings doesn't matter.

Anyway, I'm getting to be deviantly active, and this's what I mean:

The Big Bang

I'm picking up the camera, plus continuing my deviantart fervour, while I still have the time. Meanwhile, I'm searching for a much more portable bag to contain my camera, so that I don't always have to think twice about bringing the baby out, and hence miss out on a lot of photo opportunities.

"The major puts his arm around Hilde.
"Do you hear the mysterious play of the waves?"
"Yes, we must get the boat in the water tomorrow."
"But do you hear the strange whispering of the wind? Look how the aspen winds are trembling."
"The planet is alive, you know..."
"You wrote that there was something between the lines."
"I did?"
"Perhaps there is something between the lines in this garden too."
"Nature is full of enigmas, but we are talking about stars in the sky."
"Soon there will be stars on the water.""

A beautiful excerpt from Sophie's World, the book I finally finished. Have picked up The Great Gatsby, and have enjoyed the first chapter. Must be a good book.

My brain abandons

It is really a surprise to step out of the room, peek into the living room and find today's papers sprawled open at Life's comics page. Now, didn't I finish the papers earlier on?

My memory must be failing me, like an old lady's. I won't be surprised it's shrinking and badly selective. Now, let me recall...I must have been reading, and the phone rang....and I went into the room.

....and it was the travel agency. They wanted me to do a reconfirmation for the rooms. And i on the lappie, and I kinda got stuck here. So i guess blame it on the lappie, not the memory. That makes me feel so much better.

Not an old lady,
