My brand of humour

My sudden outburst just now: "HEY, I'm going to go brush my tits!"

I collapsed into laughter. The rest of the house continued what they were doing.

These days, nobody enjoy lewd humour leh.

The new D90

If not for the huge body, I'd be seriously attracted.

And I forsee it being a crowd-puller, because it seems like a D300 in a cheaper body. Reincarnation!

I'm going to the COMEX show tomorrow and I might see it! Maybe fiddle a little with it. But i'd remember that I'm only down there for a hard disk drive. Must remember.

What I Do with Free Time

I'm at the school's mac lab now, slacking away while Jiamin and Jin slog away for their pub design assignment. I'm procrastinating moving to the printing lab to get my 207 notes, and I was kinda held back by the Green Poppies mail in the box.

Gosh, those shoes.

Then I think of the money, and I start to hate empty wallets.

Just two days into a lifestyle of thrift, and I'm kinda dying. Was I such a spendthrift? I dread to think of myself in such a bad light. But it might be true. I need to reflect.

It's going to be a long day, and I just want to type something.

P.S: Some horoscope I read suggested that one should type out everything without looking through or editing. That's what I did. So pardon any bad English

Love school

I'm happier with school. That's a conclusion I came up with, like today.

I'm more organised and there's a sense of purpose in everything I do. I know how the timetable goes, what I should be doing at whatever timing. I eat regular meals and I have breakfast. :)

Anyway, I'm trying to be a miser now. I've decided to be more prudent coz I reckon I need to save more. I'm limiting myself to a certain amount of money per day. But, gosh, it's damn hard. I've gone over today's limit already. Like so fast! Who knows a few pens and boxes of tissue papers cost so much?!?!?

The picture above is an overdue picture from the KFC under the Stars gathering we had last last week. Soo much fun. We're still having a bit of fun until more stress kicks in. And 010 has been MIA for many days le...boo.

P.S: I nearly swallowed a xiao xiao qiang yesterday. eucks.

A Very Bad Dream

I dreamt of political persecution.

The whole dream revolved around this letter from NTUC Income(don't ask me, I don't know why). The authorities said they were charging me for political dissent (gosh I didn't know there was something like that). Apparently, I was part of this political society, and Chan Heng Chee was part of this society. She had written a book called "The Economy Dirty Politics" which angered the government (This is so unlikely). And they wanted to fine me $458. And I didn't have the money. My mum was screaming at me.

WTH.

I reckoned that this dream is a fair combination of what has been going through my mind these few days. Firstly, these weeks of foreign policy studies might have been stressing me out a little. Then I heard "horror tales" from Hedwig and Xiaoge about the local press system. I was reading an article on diplomacy regarding Chan Heng Chee. The fine, well, this is because of the "or gong seow si min" joke we have been throwing around since the National Day Rally. And money, my wallet is quite empty now.

Everything is so Freudian. Dreams, and the unconscious. And my innate fears.

Adventures and Inadequacies

The adventures part:

The past week has been full of activities. I keep reiterating that I'm now committed to my OG. There are so many hall events and I'm up to my neck attending all these ad-hoc activities. There's another one on Friday, the Food Trail. Though I'm seriously having fun. But all the catching-up on work is so not fun lah.

It is true that people thrives on gossip. My life now revolves around updates updates and more updates. It is intriguing how the lives of others continuously amazes. So drama, so exciting!

The Inadequacies part:

The lessons are really more challenging this semester. Prof Ho asked me for my opinion on the Russian-Georgian conflict today and although he was rather satisfied with my take on the issue, I felt that I was totally blabbering nonsense I've taken off the papers. And actually the Prof Quah's photoshoot made me realise how badly I need to improve on my photography skills. I really have no idea how to communicate with a model when it comes to posed portraits. It might be due to my background of event photography, but there's no excuses. Argh.

My mood keeps fluctuating, though I get really 'high' in the night when all the neighbours get together. LOL.

Olympic adrenaline

Everybody's definitely watching the US dream team showdown with Yao Ming and co. tonight, aren't they? It's my most anticipated match for the Olympics, and it's coming too fast, too furious.

Dwayne Wade, Lebron James, Kobe Bryant. OMG, all star.

I could grow to love The Straits Times' new look.

This morning, I didn't quite like the first quick look I got of the new masthead they used. It reminded me too much of the Malaysian newspapers' masthead, although I have nothing against their design. But, the rationale for the change in design was explained reasonably in this new issue, and yes, I'm getting used to the new look just after one read. Also, kudos to the new arrangement of contents, especially the Prime pages. Today's paper was such a fresh read, with a mixture of commentaries and news reports in the Prime pages. I can't seem to fathom what's different with the content, but there seem to be a slight tweak to the way they do the reporting. There's a whole re-prioritisation of how the news are arranged and selected. The commentary on Malaysia's sex in politics was especially intrigueing.

Well, it's a special day today. 080808 is Olympics! I'm watching the group procession for the opening ceremony on TV now. They're showing George and Laura Bush waving their flags now. :) I'm actually more excited to see the political personalities as compared to the athletes, migosh. I was telling my sis just now: "There there, that's Sarkozy!" LOL.

There's strong nationalism in the air now, as each country competes to be better than the rest for the country's honour. I'd say at least for now, we should celebrate the spirit of sports and put aside all the annoying politics and diplomacy that comes into play simultaneously.

BTW, it's also National Day tomorrow. We were happily crooning National Day songs yesterday in the room, waving our little flags. Give us an A for brilliant self-entertainment and a pat on the back for voluntary show of patriotism. Maybe I'll wear red tomorrow for Nat. Day.

Happy Birthday in advance before the clock strikes 12 then! Muacks, love you Singapore (despite the occasional complaints)

Assimilation

I haven't seen Jiamin and Jinhe since school started, so it's a bit hard getting use to the fact that "This is it, the beginning of a new semester". Yesterday was hardly like school since I only had one lesson. I also haven't moved back to hall.

I realised that I have a tutorial lesson on Thursday, so I'd be moving back tomorrow. It also means that I have to cancel my Biennale duty. I'm looking forward to Wednesday because it might mean lunch with Jiamin, Jinhe and Rushan. Saw roomie yesterday, but we hardly finished what we had to say to each other before I had to leave. Gosh, conversation leftovers are such disappointments!

When's 9-5? KFC under the stars? Blk Supper?

Anyway, I got the Jam S tickets!!!!!

School?

School feels so uncertain all of a sudden. I felt a little lost today on my first day of school. I guess I'm too used to the holidays.
